The last piece from the statue series - and also a farewell before I go on hiatus till January.
In this piece I struggled to end the tale on an hopeful note. That is why I used a symbol of all-defying life sprouting amidst destruction. This also sums up my color choice, green more than any color symbolizes living beings. To support color with shape I implemented curvaceous elements which are juxtaposed to chaotic geometric forms of ruins and barren land. Coincidentally this also a reason for the statue choice; admittedly Lady Godiva - apart from beautiful legend - is one of my favourite images in art, be it painting (my favourite being by John Collier of course) or statue. The sculpture embodies organic flow, the shapes, the curves, and feminine sensuality giving it somewhat Art Nouveau feel.
